The Build Book
A custom build takes three years and the owner sees maybe six weeks of it.
The build book gives them the rest. The keel, the hull turned, the first dry fit of the interior, the sea trials, the launch, photographed by the yard as it happens and bound as one volume when the boat is handed over.
It is the object that proves the craftsmanship the owner paid for and never got to watch.
One copy for the owner, one for the yard's archive, and a third for the designer.
Delivery and Closing Gifts
Handover day is a handshake and a set of keys. The book is what makes it a ceremony.
For a new build, the delivery book is the build book. For a brokerage sale, it is the boat's own history: the previous owners, the refits, the seasons, the provenance, bound with the yacht's name on the cover and the new owner's name on the first page.
The broker who gives it is the broker who gets the call when the next boat is for sale.
Season Logs and Charter Books
A yacht's year has its own story: the Med in July, the Caribbean in January, the guests, the ports, the crew.
A season log binds it. The captain's photographs and the guests' become one volume the owner keeps aboard and another they keep at home.
For charter, the same book becomes the reason a guest rebooks: the week they had, bound and sent home after they have flown. The charter company that sends it is the one they remember when they plan next summer.
How it works
- The conversation. Tell us the boat: the build stage, the delivery date, and whether this is one owner's copy or a run for the fleet.
- The design. Work with our design team from the yard's photography and the naval architect's drawings, or deliver print-ready files; either path ends in proofs you approve.
- The craft. Bound by hand in our European workshop: leathers, linens, papers, the yacht's name debossed on the cover, and real wood presentation cases from our own carpenters.
- The delivery. Worldwide with FedEx and DHL, to the yard, the marina, or the owner's home. A single copy is produced in 12 business days after proof approval; fleet runs are scheduled per project, and every quote includes its timeline.

FAQ
What is a yacht build book? A coffee table book that documents a custom or semi-custom build from keel to launch: the hull, the interior fit-out, the sea trials and the delivery, photographed by the yard and bound by hand in our European workshop. Owners keep it; yards give it.
Who photographs the build? Usually the yard's own photographer, or the owner's representative during their visits. We design from what you have, and we can advise on what to photograph at each stage so the book carries the whole arc.
Can the book include the drawings? Yes. General arrangement plans, renderings and the naval architect's lines print cleanly on our Fuji DP II papers and belong in a build book.
How many copies do yards usually order? One for the owner and one for the yard's archive is the natural order. Some yards add copies for the designer, the broker and the captain. There is no minimum, and a fleet run is made one book at a time on the same design.
Can a brokerage commission a book for a pre-owned yacht? Yes. A provenance book gathers the boat's history: previous owners, refits, seasons and photographs, bound as a closing gift on a landmark sale.
How long does a yacht book take? A single copy in a standard format is produced in 12 business days after proof approval. Fleet runs are scheduled per project, and every quote includes its timeline. We plan around launch and delivery dates, so tell us the date first.
How does pricing work? Every project is quoted individually, based on format, materials, page count and the number of copies. Fleet runs are quoted per project. The conversation starts with the boat.
Do you ship to shipyards outside the United States? Yes. Finished books ship worldwide from Miami with FedEx and DHL. International clients work with us remotely from the first conversation to the final proof.
