Custom Memorial Books

One person, bound properly. Tribute books, remembrance books, celebration of life books.
KONPOLI makes memorial books, also called obituary books, tribute books, remembrance books and celebration of life books: one person's photographs, letters and words, bound by hand as a coffee table book in genuine Italian leather or Dutch linen. A memorial book is the one that comes in the weeks after the service, not the program handed out at the door. Order one copy, or one for each child; every KONPOLI book is made one at a time, so there is no minimum. A single copy produces in 12 business days after proofs are approved, and KONPOLI ships worldwide from Miami.
Commissioned by:
  • Families, in the weeks after a service
  • Funeral homes and celebrants, as the keepsake offered after the program
  • Hospices and families making a legacy book while the person can still tell the stories
  • Synagogues, parishes and cemeteries, for a book of remembrance
  • Families abroad, for the funeral brochure, the recordatorio, the burial programme, made to last

The Book After the Service

The program gets folded into a purse and found again in March.

The memorial book is different. It is made after, when the photographs have been gathered from every cousin's phone, when the eulogy has been written down properly, when the family knows which stories they want to keep.

Eighty years of one person, bound in leather with their name on the cover, on the table in the living room where the grandchildren can pick it up.

One copy is a normal order, and one for each child is the natural one.

For Funeral Homes and Celebrants

Families ask for something that lasts, and the merchandise book stops at the guest register.

A memorial book is the thing after the program: the family's photographs, the service, the eulogies, designed by our team and bound by hand, offered by the funeral home in the weeks after the service, when the family is ready to think about it.

No minimum, no inventory, no plates. A conversation and a quote, then a book that arrives at the family's door with the funeral home's name inside the cover, if they wish.

Legacy Books, Made While There Is Time

Some of the best memorial books are made before the memorial.

Hospices call it a legacy project: the person tells the stories, the family gathers the photographs, and the book is finished while they can still hold it. The same book serves the celebration of life later, and the family has the version the person approved.

It is the book a grandmother would have wanted made, if anyone had asked.

How it works

  1. The conversation. Tell us about the person, the timing, and how many copies the family needs.
  2. The design. Send the photographs as they are, from phones and hard drives, along with the words you want kept, and our design team lays out the book; or deliver print-ready files. Either path ends in proofs you approve.
  3. The craft. Bound by hand in our European workshop: leathers, linens, papers, and the name debossed on the cover.
  4. The delivery. Worldwide with FedEx and DHL. A single copy produces in 12 business days after proofs are approved; larger orders are scheduled per project.

FAQ

What is a memorial book? A coffee table book about one person: their photographs, letters, eulogies and stories, designed by our team and bound by hand in Italian leather or Dutch linen. Some families call it an obituary book or a tribute book. Families commission them in the weeks after a service, and hospices commission them before.

What is the difference between a memorial book and a funeral program? The program is printed for the day and handed out at the door. The memorial book is made afterward from everything the family gathers, bound to last, and kept in the home. Most families do both.

How quickly can a memorial book be made? A single copy produces in 12 business days after you approve the proofs, and larger orders are scheduled per project. Design takes as long as the family needs to gather the photographs; some families finish in a week, some take a season. There is no deadline on our side.

What do I need to send you? Photographs from phones, cameras and hard drives, in whatever state they are in, and any words you want included: the eulogy, letters, a timeline. Our design team does the rest and you approve proofs before anything is bound.

Can every sibling have a copy? Yes. Every KONPOLI book is made one at a time, so a family can order one copy or one for each child, and reorder later from the same files.

Can we add pages later? A bound book is finished when it is bound. Families who expect a second chapter plan a second volume later, in the same size and material, so the two sit together on the shelf.

Do you make books for funeral homes to offer families? Yes. Funeral homes and celebrants offer the memorial book as the keepsake after the program, with no minimum and no inventory. Ask us about a sample for the arrangement room.

Do you make books for services outside the United States? Yes. We bind in Europe and ship worldwide from Miami with FedEx and DHL. A Ghanaian funeral brochure, a Nigerian burial programme, a recordatorio, a synagogue's book of remembrance: the form is the family's, the binding is ours.

How does pricing work? Every book is quoted individually, based on format, materials, page count and the number of copies. The conversation starts with the person.
